Autogram is a partnership of experts in design and content management systems; we guide digital teams to collaborate more effectively.
Even when they use hot new technologies and follow supposed best practices, digital initiatives often fail to deliver the value the business expects. Implementing another new platform won’t solve this problem — partnering with Autogram will.
Who we are
Karen McGrane identifies and solves problems with content management and user experience design across print, web, and mobile. She has partnered with some of the world’s largest enterprise businesses to streamline their digital operations and governance.
Jeff Eaton helps large organizations understand, model, and manage their content. Whether he’s fixing problems with CMS architecture or editorial workflow, his solutions sit in the overlap between design, communications, and technology.
How we can help
We begin all of our projects with a one or two-day workshop. In some cases, that’s all clients need. In others, the workshop gives us enough insight to propose a longer project, which typically lasts between three and six months. All of our work is conducted remotely.

What’s an Autogram?
Autograms are self-describing sentences that provide an inventory of their own characters.
Only the fool would take trouble to verify that his sentence was composed of ten a’s, three b’s, four c’s, four d’s, forty-six e’s, sixteen f’s, four g’s, thirteen h’s, fifteen i’s, two k’s, nine l’s, four m’s, twenty-five n’s, twenty-four o’s, five p’s, sixteen r’s, forty-one s’s, thirty-seven t’s, ten u’s, eight v’s, eight w’s, four x’s, eleven y’s, twenty-seven commas, twenty-three apostrophes, seven hyphens and, last but not least, a single !
Because the sentence to be described can’t be known until its description is complete, writing an autogram requires many painstaking revisions.
Anyone who’s worked on digital strategy and operations projects knows that solutions feel elusive and only emerge after many iterations. Our decades of experience working with small and large organizations gives us insight that can help you get there more quickly.
